Thanks for the mention! I was blown away by the "synchronicity of trees" as you say; I wandered into another post about trees as well but I can't remember where that one was... I love how collections get created like that. 🙂 We live in a magical universe
I've noticed that a lot, that even though the posts can be planned weeks in advance, there's a magic to their convergence when published. I saw another on trees too and wanted to share, but also couldn't remember how I came across it.
“150 years ago, someone at a Catholic university wrote a doctoral thesis with the title: “Does a woman have a soul?” From this the whole tendency of Christianity emerges: it is directed at the absolute destruction of women and at emphasizing the inferiority of women. The entire substance of the priesthood and of the whole of Christianity is, I am firmly convinced, an erotic union of men (Männerbund) for the erection and maintenance of this 2,000-year-old Bolshevism.” – Heinrich Himmler,
Thank you again Safar for the mention! As I read your newsletter I thought of the similar ways trees network together and the ways humans can network. Trees are a system of breathing for our planet. Community is a system of mental care/circulation. 🤔
I like that :) Paco used spiders' webs, but given how trees are similarly networked, it's a really good metaphor too. I'm also pondering 'system of mental care/circulation' as I'd like to do a series which unpacks the concept of community in the future.
I look forward to your series! I've been giving this concept of community and mental care/circulatory systems a lot of thought lately. Humans "catch" ideas from each other like cold viruses and then spread them. We do this with helpful/good for us ideas as well as misinformation/disinformation harmful ones. I've been looking at both mythology and history through this lens of helpful/harmful ideas being circulated.
Looking forward to more of your work and I thank you for your efforts.

Note to self: use the save function more often.
